HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 2022.08.17 - 37540BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS August 17, 2022 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #22-291 Sponsored By: Kristen Nelson, Parks & Recreation - Grant Acceptance with SEAICOG for the Planning Assistance Grant Program Chairperson and Members of the Board: WHEREAS in May 2022 Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission (OCPRC) applied to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) Planning Assistance Grant Program for the development of a Nine Mile Pathway Feasibility Study: and NVTIEREAS the OCPRC was awarded $36,832,50 for the project, and WHEREAS the grant period is July 1, 2022 through June 30. 2023: and WHEREAS Oakland County Parks and Recreation is facilitating this project in partnership with the following communities: Hazel Park, Ferndale, Oak Park, Southfield, Farmington, and Farmington Hills; and WHEREAS the study will provide a framework for pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and connection with local community resources along the Nine Mile Corridor in Oakland County, improving the quality of life for Oakland County residents; and WHEREAS a match requirement of S8,167.50 is required: and WHEREAS the total project cost is $100,247, and OCPR's total expense for the project is $63.141.50. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves and accepts the 2022 SEMCOG Plarming Assistance Grant Award of $36,S32,50 for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves and authorizes the Chairperson or his designee to execute the grant agreement and any additional documents needed to accept the grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the FY 2022 budget is amended as reflected in the attached Schedule A - Budget Amendment. As City Managers representing the six municipal govemments included in the proposed torridar, we wish to express our support for the acceptance of the SEMCOG Planning Grant and approval of matching funding by the Parks Conu'nlssion. The Study will be directed by an Intergovernmental Task Force of representatives of each local government with Oakland County Parks and Recreation acting as fiduciary and p(clectjcontract manager.
