This will be funded with a Fiscal Year 23 County Veterans Service Fund Grant allocation. POLICY ANALYSIS This is a request for an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement between SMART and Oakland County to extend the agreement to June 30, 2023. The resolution (MR #22-107) with the original agreement was approved by the BOC on 4/14/22. The veteran’s transportation program will continue to provide veterans and dependents free round-trip transportation to the Oakland County Veterans Services offices in Pontiac and Troy from any location in Oakland County. The transportation services will be provided five days per week, provide ADA compliant vehicles when requested or needed, may need to partner with other transportation service providers, and the cost per ride paid by the County from the grant funds will remain at $45. An allocation of $90,000 from the awarded FY2023 MVAA County Veterans Service Fund grant ($255,319) will cover the veteran’s transportation program. On final approval of the Board, the Chairman is authorized to sign the amendment to the Interlocal Agreement. A budget amendment is not required at this time. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves the attached Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement and authorizes the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners to sign the Amendment BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no budget amendment is required. Lisa Brown, Oakland County Clerk / Register of Deeds FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN OAKLAND COUNTY AND SUBURBAN MOBILITY AUTHORITY FOR REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION (SMART) Pursuant to paragraphs 16 and 17 of the Interlocal Agreement Between Oakland County and Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (“SMART”), dated April 13, 2022, paragraph 8 of Exhibit A, which is attached hereto, is amended to reflect the extension from October 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 as follows: “8. Duration of the program shall be from April 1, 2022 until June 30, 2023.” All other terms and provisions of the Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
