Sheriff's Office Delete and Create Forensic Lab Tech Positions HR Write Up December 8, 2022 RESOLUTION #2022-2287 _ 22-406 Sponsored By: Penny Luebs Sheriff’s Office - Staffing Modification in the Forensic Services Unit Chairperson and Members of the Board: WHEREAS funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) for reimbursement of positions will end effective December 31, 2022; and WHEREAS it is necessary to delete two (2) General Fund General Purpose (GF/GP) Part-Time Non- Eligible (PTNE) Forensic Laboratory Technician positions (#4030901-11324 and 11325) in the Forensic Services Unit that were funded by HIDTA; and WHEREAS the technicians provide support in testing firearms, entering fired cartridge cases into the Integrated Ballistics Identification System (IBIS) and completing lab reports of their findings; and WHEREAS MR #22-330 created one (1) GF/GP PTNE 1,000 hours per year Forensic Laboratory Technician position (#4030901-15829) in anticipation of the funding cut; and WHEREAS it is requested to delete one (1) GF/GP PTNE 1,000 hours per year Forensic Laboratory Technician position (#4030901-15829) and create two (2) GF/GP PTNE 500 hours per year Forensic Laboratory Technicians in the Forensic Services Unit (#4030901).
