After logging in, click “View Available Opportunities” on your “Home” page to initiate and
begin a Marine Safety Grant Application. Below are some reminders for completing a Marine
Safety Application in MiGrants:
• The Authorized Official for your organization is the only person who can initiate an
application but once initiated, other staff registered in MiGrants can complete the application
• Be sure to save application pages often
• If you navigate away from the page in the system without saving your input, you will lose all
information you completed. You can navigate away from the system and return to complete if
you save your input
• To return to your application in process, click on ‘Searches’ and then ‘Applications.’ Change
the program drop down to “Marine Safety Grant Application 2023”, leave the other fields
blank and hit “Search”. Click on the name (example – MS23-555) to open the application
• Once completed, the Authorized Official is the only one who can submit the completed
application. If you do not submit the application, DNR grants staff will not know you have
completed the application, please be sure to change the status to submit.
NOTE: It is a requirement to have the Unique Entity Identifier Number on the grant
agreement. Before initiating an application in MiGrants, you need to click on
“Administration” and then “Organization”. On that page, you will see a blank field for
UEI. You need to put in the 12-digit alphanumeric number in that field and hit the
SAVE BUTTON. If you do not know your UEI number, you can consult with your
County Clerk or refer to your 2022 marine safety grant agreement, where you were
required to fill that in on the signature page.
If you have any questions, please contact Christie Bayus at bayusc@michigan.gov
