MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONERS
CALL TO ORDER:
The Board of County Election Commissioners meeting was called to order by Clerk Brown on
February 27, 2023 at 11:02 a.m., in the Oakland County Elections Division, Board of
Canvassers/Training Room, 1st floor, West Wing Extension, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac,
MI 48341.
ROLL CALL:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Brown, Wittenberg. (2)
ABSENT: Hallmark. (1)
OTHERS PRESENT: Joseph J. Rozell, Director of Elections; and Heather Kadulski, Elections Specialist.
Moved by WITTENBERG supported by BROWN to appoint Karen McDonald as a Member of the
Election Commission. Motion carried.
Prosecutor McDonald assumed the role of Chairperson.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Moved by BROWN seconded by WITTENBERG to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Moved by WITTENBERG seconded by BROWN to approve the minutes of the October 13, 2022 Board of
County Election Commissioners Meeting. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
A. APPROVAL OF BALLOTS FOR THE MAY 2, 2023 SPECIAL ELECTION.
Discussion followed.
Prosecutor McDonald stated that sample ballots were submitted to the commissioners for approval.
The commissioners reviewed ballots submitted for Novi Township, Precinct 1, West Bloomfield Township,
Precinct 1 and Berkley, Precinct 1. Prosecutor McDonald asked for a motion to approve the ballots for the
May 2, 2023 Special Election.
Moved by BROWN seconded by WITTENBERG that the ballots be approved.
VOTE ON APPROVAL OF BALLOTS: AYES: BROWN, WITTENBERG, MCDONALD. (3)
NAYS: NONE. (0)
The ballots were APPROVED.

Moved by BROWN seconded by WITTENBERG that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
Prosecutor McDonald adjourned the meeting at 11:05 a.m.
