ITEM CATEGORY SPONSORED BY Budget Amendment Yolanda Smith Charles INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND County owned buildings require employees to work on building rooftops and roof restraint safety systems are needed to provide safety for these county employees. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Codes outline the need for these systems. The roof restraint safety systems are for the Jail (10 East), Public Works Building (95 West), Courthouse and Board of Commissioners Auditorium (12 East), Patrol Services (57 West), and Little Oaks (30 East). Following the Purchasing Division policies and procedures, Facilities Planning and Engineering (FP&E) and Purchasing solicited a proposal for roof restraint safety systems from annual competitively bid and selected contractors. Peak Fall Protection provided the lowest responsible bid with a total project cost of $623,924, including $489,937 for engineering, materials, fabrication, and installation, $30,000 for roof patching, and $103,987 for contingency. The funding in the amount of $623,924 is available for transfer from the FY2023 Capital Improvement Program/Building Improvement Fund (#40100) to the Project Work Order Fund (#40400) for the Roof Restraint Safety System Projects.
