Call Meeting to Order Chair Janet Jackson called the meeting of the Democratic Caucus to order at 5:03 p.m.in the BOC Committee Room A 1200 N. Telegraph Road, 12E, Pontiac, Michigan 48341. 2. Roll Call MEMBERS PRESENT: David Woodward, Penny Luebs, Kristen Nelson, Gwen Markham, Angela Powell, Marcia Gershenson, Janet Jackson, Yolanda Smith Charles, Brendan Johnson, Charles Cavell (10) MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Gary McGillivray, William Miller III, Ajay Raman (3) 3. Public Comment No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment #1. 4. Approval of Minutes a. Board of Commissioners - dated May 25, 2023 Gwen Markham moved approval of the Minutes dated May 25, 2023, as presented. Seconded by Charles Cavell. A voice vote was conducted and the motion passed unanimously. 5. Discussion Items Commissioner Kristen Nelson addressed the Caucus to request an update on the School Resource Officer interlocal agreements. Commissioner David Woodward addressed the Caucus regarding the status of interlocal agreements for Law Enforcement Services. The agreements are currently being reviewed by Fiscal Services for price points and Corporation Council for policy framework. The Board of Commissioners is committed to having School Resource Officers in place prior to the beginning of the school year. Discussion followed. Commissioner David Woodward addressed the Caucus regarding the proposed final Oakland County ARPA Allocation and distributed an allocation worksheet. There will be an extra Caucus scheduled for June 22, 2023 to discuss this. Chris Ward, Director, Oakland County Parks and Recreation addressed the Caucus regarding New Item entitled: Parks and Recreation - Park Operations Partnership Agreement with the City of Madison Heights. Commissioner Gwen Markham addressed the Caucus to announce that the City of Pontiac has joined the Southeastern Michigan Council of Governments (SEMGOC). Commissioner David Woodward addressed the Caucus regarding the Pontiac Phoenix Center project. He would like an extra Caucus scheduled to discuss this. The Housing Trust Fund now has a manager in place, three appointees are needed for the Housing Trust Fund Board. Four federal cases have been filed against Oakland County claiming wrongful convictions. Please defer to Corporation Counsel for inquiries into this matter. 6. Public Comment No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment #2. 7. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
