December 4, 1968
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Frances Clark, at
10:00 a.m., at the Parks and Recreation office.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Chairman Frances Clark, Vice Chairman John Carey, Secretary Velma
Austin, Daniel Murphy, James Reid, Henry Schiffer, Daniel Barry.
COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT:
Clarence Durbin, Donald Kalmbach, Frazer Staman.
OTHERS PRESENT:
Director Kenneth Van Natta.
The minutes of the November 13, 1968 meeting were discussed.
Moved by Mr. Barry, supported by Mr. Schiffer,
that the minutes be approved as written.
Motion carried.
Due to Mr. Durbin's absense, Mr. Van Natta gave the report of the
Davisburg Building Sub -committee meeting and of the committee's
decision to scrap the entire old plan for the Clubhouse and plan
for a building with a rustic effect and within a budget appropriation.
The sub -committee will meet again in January.
Mr. Van Natta reported to the Commission that he was negotiating for
property in Addison Township, known as the Buhl Estate. This property
was visited by the Commission and an offer was made some time last
year. The Commission approved the continuing effort to acquire this
property.
A report on the damage by vandals at the Davisburg site was given.
We now have all windows broken. The Sheriff's Department has three
juveniles connected to this damage and expect to find others.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development booklet containing
our expected acquisition and development programs together with
finances for a five and ten year phase was presented to the
Commission also the fine report we verbally received from the Depart-
ment of Housing and Urban Development Chicago Office on how well it
was done was relayed to the Commission.
Moved by Mr. Schiffer, seconded by Mr. Carey,
that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion carried.
