DAVISBURG BUILDING SUB -COMMITTEE MEETING
October -3, 1968
The meeting was called to order at 9:45 a.m, at the Parks
and Recreation Office.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Clarence Durbin, Velma Austin and Henry Schiffer.
OTHERS PRESENT:
Director Kenneth Van Natta, Mr. Ed Laird and Mr. Gil Savage.
Mr. Savage asked for and received permission to enlarge
mechanical room. Added space to be from Men's locker room.
Pro -shop to be built up on the perimeter 3' high with a solid
material (brick or batten board or aluminum).
Water softener should be installed.
Soil borings were ordered by the architect at a cost of
$240.00
Decision was made that well drilling and septic systems be
separate contracts.
Terrace to remain "concrete" rubber mats or other material as
entrance strips.
Fireplace added on second floor to be both log and gas burning.
Kitchen to have solid wall to eliminate serving counter idea
and to maintain a resemblance of decor and dining and
relaxation room feeling. This would also lower cost.
As most items have been covered Mr. Savage was advised to
endeavor to complete the architectural work and present final
plans to the Park Commission at a meeting October 10, 1968.
Mr. Savage was also requested to begin work on the bid
documents and to set a date for bid openings.
Every effort is to be made to have the building ready for
occupying on May 1, 1969.
