HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1970.09.04 - 38404PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING September 4, 1970 The special meeting was called to order by Chairman Frances Clark at 9:30 a.m. in the Parks and Recreation Commission room. COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Frances Clark, Vice Chairman Clarence Durbin, Secretary Velma Austin, Thomas Dillon, Sol Lomerson, Daniel Barry, Carl O'Brien, Henry Schiffer, Frank Richardson. COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT: James Reid ALSO PRESENT: Kenneth L. Van Natta The meeting was called to discuss the possibilities of pur- chasing the Twin Lakes Golf Course in White Lake Township. Mr. Van Natta presented the appraisal obtained from Mr. Richard Irwin. The appraised amount was $720,000. Review of the appraisal and discussion followed. Moved by Mr. Barry, supported by Mr. Richardson, that the Parks and Recreation Commission purchase the Twin Lakes Golf Course for $675,000, and that Mr. Van Natta be authorized to proceed to make the purchase. Roll call vote was asked. Yes: Mrs. Clark, Mr. Durbin, Mr. Lomerson, Mr. Barry, Mr. Dillon, Mrs. Austin, Mr. Richardson, Mr. Schiffer. No: Mr. O'Brien Absent: Mr. Reid Discussion followed concerning the financing of the purchase. Mr. Van Natta to follow necessary procedures to complete the purchase. Mr. Richardson requested that a projected develop- ment cost for the next seven (7) years be submitted to the Commission.
