PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
SPECIAL METING
December 18, 1974
The meeting was called to order by Chairman E. Frank Richardson
at 1:45 p.m. in the Parks and Recreation Commission Room.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Chairman Richardson, Secretary Wint, Velma Austin, Frances Clark,
George Kuhn, Marjorie Walker, Richard Wilcox.
ALSO PRESENT:
R. Eric Reickel; Jon J. Kipke; Pauline McCormick; Charles Ross;
Dave Durbin, Anthony M. Franco, Inc.; Ralph Kingzett, Oakland Press;
William Willoughby, Daily Tribune.
Mrs. Walker tendered her resignation as a member of the Oakland
County Parks and Recreation Commission and excused herself from
the meeting. Official action will be taken at the next regularly
scheduled Commission meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed 1975 budget
for the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Mr. Reickel started his presentation by showing a graph portraying
the monies that are available for Capital Development have become
less because the revenues are not increasing in proportion to our
cost of operation and that we should be very cognizant of this in
the coming years. At this point, we are in no danger.
Mr. Wint requested information on the percentage of resident and
non-resident golfers at White Lake -Oaks Golf Course.
It was unanimous on behalf of the Commission that the greens fees,
as recommended for White Lake -Oaks, be changed as follows:
Weekday resident fee will be increased 25� from the present $2.75
to $3.00 for 9 holes and increased 25� from the present $4.25 to
$4.50 for 18 holes.
The Commission reviewed the budget based on approval at the
regularly scheduled meeting on Friday, December 20, 1974.
Meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
