OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
February 25, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 2:30 P.M. by Chairman E. Frank Richardson
in the Parks and Recreation Commission Room.
PRESENT•
Chairman Richardson, Vice Chairman Dunleavy, Frances Clark, Lewis Wint.
ALSO PRESENT:
R. Eric Reickel, John Laffrey, Allan Werthmann
Purpose of the meeting was for a Committee of the Commission to receive a
proposal from Laffrey and Werthmann regarding food and beverage operations.
PROPOSALS•
WATERFORD-OAKS:
4% of gross sales plus rental; exclusive catering rights with the exception
of pot -luck; vending included; no projection as to gross profits.
WHITE LAKE -OAKS:
Minimum rental $8,000 per year or 4% gross sales, whichever is greater.
Projected 1974 gross of $300,000. Could mean $12,000 to Commission.
Expect to make some capital investment for better food service. ($5,000).
ADDISON-OAKS:
Minimum rental of $6,000 or 3% of gross, whichever is greater. Projected
$200,000 gross for 1974.
Would consider a review after two years.
Capital expenditures - Consider eliminating apartment and expanding meeting
facilities.
SPRINGFIELD-OAKS CLUBHOUSE:
Minimum rental $1.00 or percentage. Could be reviewed on annual basis.
Inventory: Will replace and keep up to present day level. At term of
lease expiration, must maintain our level of inventory.
Utilities:
Looking for some help in this area. Could have a fixed cost or percentage.
Escape Clause: (Termination)
This is in case of disagreement and contract must be terminated from both
sides.
Commission Meeting (February 25, 1974)
Advertising:
Expect to invest a substantial amount of money for promotional purposes--
$20,000.
Mr. Laffrey will submit a written proposal to the Commission at a meeting
to be held March 1, 1974.
