Frank Richardson in the Parks and Recreation Commission Room. COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman E. Frank Richardson, Vice Chairman James Dunleavy, Secretary Lewis Wint, Velma Austin, Dr. Joseph Montante, Richard V. Vogt, and Richard Wilcox. COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT: Fred Harris, George Kuhn. ALSO PRESENT: R. Eric Reickel; Jon J. Kipke; Pauline McCormick; Charles Ross; Peter Gout and John Devine, Lakeville Gas Company; Dennis Pajot, Oakland Press; Bill Willoughby, The Daily Tribune. ADDISON-OAKS - SEISMOGRAPH OPERATION: Mr. Gout and Mr. Devine briefed the Commission on the progress of the Lakeville Gas Company seismograph operation in the Addison area. They reported that due to tests which have been concluded on their prop- erties to the north of Addison -Oaks, they feel certain we would have oil and/or gas under our land. Permission was requested to conduct seismic tests on park property, which should last no more than two days, would cause no damage to the park, and no expense to the Commission. The Commission requested staff to obtain an opinion from legal council regarding a hold harmless clause should seismic tests be conducted on park property. This will be discussed at next meeting. 1976 BUDGET• The Springfield -Oaks Y.A.C. operation for 1976 was reviewed. (Special Commission Meeting, December 3, 1975) Page 2 It was suggested that we do not promote the Y.A.C., using it only for the 4-H and regular activities. Discussion followed regarding the elimination of the Park Manager-Y.A.C. Coordinator position and reduce expenditures to decrease the operating deficit. Moved by Mr. Wilcox, supported by Mr. Wint to reorganize the Y.A.C. operation and adjust the operating budget accordingly. Staff is to analyze Y.A.C. operation and present recommendations at the December 12, 1975, meeting.
