PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING - BUDGET
November 21, 1977
The meeting was called to order at 10:20 a.m. by Chairman E. Frank Richardson
in the Parks and Recreation Commission Room.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Chairman E. Frank Richardson, Vice Chairman Marjorie Walker, Secretary Richard
Vogt, Betty Fortino, John Gnau, George Kuhn, Dr. Joseph Montante.
COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT:
Don Deni, Lewis Wint
ALSO PRESENT:
R. Eric Reickel; Jon J. Kipke; Charles Ross; Sheila Cox; Bill Willoughby,
Daily Tribune.
The meeting was held to review the proposed 1978 Parks and Recreation Budget.
Mr.. Reickel stated that -the proposed revenues for 1978 will exceed three mil-
lion for the first time in the history of the Commission. Expenditures to
exceed two million, leaving a balance of $900,000 for 1978 capital expenditures.
The Commission reviewed the first portion of the budget and discussed the Fees
and Charges schedule.
---Red-Oaks fees to be identical with Royal Oak Golf Course fees.
Moved by Mrs. Fort' ' supported by Mr. Gnau, to
eliminate all annuaT44emberships for golf courses
except for retirees and their spouse.
ROLL CALL VOTE:
-AYES: Walker, Gnau, Kuhn, Fortino (4)
NAYS: Vogt, Montante, Richardson (3)
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the
motion carried 4-3.
Moved by Mr. Kuhn, supported by Mrs. Walker, to
recommend $120 fee be charged for principal senior
citizen for annual membership fee and $30 fee for
senior citizen's spouse.
ROLL CALL VOTE:
AYES: Gnau, Vogt, Kuhn, Montante, Fortino, Walker (6)
NAYS: Richardson (1)
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion
carried 6-1.

Staff will make a determination on requirements to qualify as a senior
citizen and report back to the Commission.
Staff recommended increasing golf club rental fee from $1.00 to $2.00.
Moved by.Mro Kuhn, supported by Mrs. Fortino, to .increase
golf club rental fee from $1.00 to $2.00.
Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
