The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the letter received from Moslem Temple denying our offer of $2.25 Million to purchase Glen Oaks. The letter also stated Moslem Temple would accept an offer of $2.4 Million if the purchase can be consummated within 60 days, but was not stated as a counter- offer. The situation with the Board of Commissioners regarding the financing must be resolved. Wallace Gabler, Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners, prefers the Parks and Recreation Commission get the 4-year loan from the County, rather than through the Building Authority. However, the Parks and Recreation Commission is adamant on this point; a 4-year loan from the County would bring the parks' capital projects to a virtual standstill. Moved by Mr. Wilcox, supported by Mrs. Fortino to wait for the counter-offer from the Moslem Temple, and inform Chairman Gabler that the Parks and Recreation Commission is not willing to purchase Glen Oaks unless it can be financed through the Building Authority.
