Mr. Thomas acknowledged the important work that this Commission does and expressed that Corporation Counsel is dedicated to supporting them, as needed. Recreation Programs & Services Summer Preview Brandy Boyd provided an overview of Recreation Programs & Services upcoming summer programs and services. COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS A. Communications and Marketing Quarterly Report Long moved to Receive and File the Communications and Marketing Quarterly Report. Seconded by Quarles. Motion carried on a voice vote. REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS 1. Fiscal Services FY2022 2nd Quarter Financial Forecast & Budget Amendments Charles moved to recommend approval of the Fiscal Services FY2022 2nd Quarter Financial Forecast and Budget Amendments, as presented. Seconded by Stokes. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 2. Addison Oaks – Maintenance Building Painting Quarles moved to recommend approval of Addison Oaks – Maintenance Building Painting, as presented. Seconded by Long. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 3. Addison Oaks – Group Area Campsite Conversion Long moved to recommend approval of the Addison Oaks – Group Area Campsite Conversion, as presented. Seconded by Bagley. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 4. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 5. FY2022 Park-Wide Roof Replacements Quarles moved to recommend approval of the FY2022 Park-Wide Roof Replacements, as presented. Seconded by Charles. Red Oaks Waterpark - Lazy River ADA Railing Bagley moved to recommend approval of the Red Oaks Waterpark - Lazy River ADA Railing, as presented. Seconded by LaFontaine. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 7. Conference Center Liquor License Modification VanderVeen moved to recommend approval of the Conference Center Liquor License Modification, as presented. Seconded by Long. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 8. ADA Fund 2022 Project Recommendations Long moved to recommend approval of the ADA Fund 2022 Project Recommendations, as presented. Seconded by Quarles. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 9. Recreation Needs Assessment (County-Wide) Survey LaFontaine moved to recommend approval of the Recreation Needs Assessment (County-Wide) Survey, as presented. Seconded by Quarles. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Long voting no. 10. Request to Sell Alcohol-DRAW-Independence Oaks – October 20, 2022 Bagley moved to recommend approval of the Request to Sell Alcohol-DRAW-Independence Oaks – October 20, 2022, as presented. Seconded by Stokes. Motion carried on a roll call vote. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 11. Parks Commission Visioning Workshop Donna Folland continued the discussion for development of the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission’s strategic vision and goals for the 5-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan that began at the April 6, 2022 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. NEW & MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS 12. Director’s Report Director Ward provided an overview of his report. 13. Executive Committee Update Chairman McGillivray provided an update from the Executive Committee meeting that was held on May 23, 2022. 14. Property Acquisition (CLOSED SESSION) Stokes moved that the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission go into Closed June 1, 2022 Page 4 Session for the purposes of discussing the purchase of real property. Supported by Bagley. Motion carried on a roll call vote. The Commission went into Closed Session at 3:47 p.m. The Commission reconvened in Open Session at 4:02 p.m. ANNOUNCEMENTS/ADJOURNMENT At 4:03 p.m., there being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned to July 6, 2022 or to the Call of the Chair.
