Seconded by Stokes. Motion carried on a voice vote with VanderVeen absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Quarles moved to approve the minutes of October 5, 2022, as presented. Seconded by Nash. COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS A. Parks Environmental Sustainability Committee Report Ms. Cook-Maylen and Mr. Hughes provided information regarding electric equipment purchases. B. Fiscal Sustainability Committee Minutes Director Ward provided an overview of the items discussed at the Fiscal Sustainability Committee meeting. REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS 1. Addison Oaks – Office Conversion/Improvements Herzog moved to approve the Addison Oaks – Office Conversion/Improvements, as presented. Seconded by Stokes. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 2. DRAFT Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2023-2027 Concept Approval and Public Comment Period Nash moved to approve the DRAFT Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2023-2027 Concept Approval and Public Comment Period, as presented. Seconded by Smith Charles. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 3. Natural Resources Invasive Species Treatments Quarles moved to approve the Natural Resources Invasive Species Treatments, as presented. Seconded by LaFontaine. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 4. Waterford Township Riverwalk Trail – Grant Amendment Stokes moved to approve the Waterford Township Riverwalk Trail – Grant Amendment, as presented. Seconded by Herzog. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 5. Contract Approval Procedures LaFontaine moved to approve the Contract Approval Procedures, as presented. Seconded by Quarles. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 6. Recommendation of FY 2022 Trailway and Park Development Projects to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Smith Charles moved to approve the Recommendation of FY 2022 Trailway and Park Development Projects to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, as presented. Seconded November 2, 2022 Page 3 by Herzog. Motion carried on a roll call vote. 7. 2023 Parks Commission Calendar VanderVeen moved to approve the 2023 Parks Commission Calendar, as presented. Seconded by Herzog. Motion carried on a roll call vote. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. NEW & MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS 8. Director’s Report Director Ward provided an overview of his report. Ms. Prowse provided information regarding her involvement on SEMCOG’s Green Task Force. Chairman McGillivray requested that Ms. Prowse provide a quarterly report. 9. Executive Committee Update Chairman McGillivray provided an update from the Executive Committee meeting that was held on October 24, 2022. ANNOUNCEMENTS/ADJOURNMENT Vice Chairman VanderVeen announced that the Fire and Ice Festival will be held on January 20 & 21, 2023. The Committee has convened and funds need to be raised. Chairman McGillivray thanked Director Ward and the Parks staff for their hard work and involvement in the Healthy Communities Park and Outdoor Recreation Investment Plan and its announcement in today’s press conference. Chairman McGillivray announced that the Commissioner photo update has been rescheduled to December 7th. At 3:04 p.m., there being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned to December 7, 2022, or to the Call of the Chair.
