Dear Ken:
CLERK OF BOARD
N. ELAINE MILLEUR
Inasmuch as it is impossible for me to make the Parks and
Recreation Commission meeting, I feel compelled to leave with you
my feelings on the Royal Oak City request for this Commission's
participation in their Parks and Recreation Program.
The concept of spending County Parks and Recreation money in
municipal areas is one which I cannot find myself in full accord
with.
The politics of the City of Royal Oak has involved the Parks
and Recreation Commission as a body and the members as individuals
in a Mayoralty Race which in my opinion can only do irreparable
damage to the County Parks and Recreation Commission. Therefore,
it would be my suggestion that the Commission withdraw at this time
any consideration of participating in the City of Royal Oak Parks
and Recreation program and that at such time as the Commission feels
it has the financing available to enter into Parks and Recreation
programs with any community requesting this cooperation, that the
Royal Oak request be considered at that time.
Very truly yours,
"i
