As discussed on several occasions, the pos- sibility has now become a reality, and we are in New York. Because of the circumstances surrounding the work here, it appears that the best course to follow would be for me to resign so that the commission would have the service of a new full-time member. I have started some conversations both at the courthouse and within Michigan Bell toward that end and will keep you advised by tele- phone of any ultimate decisions. It has been a sincere pleasure and privilege to work with such an outstanding organization, and I expect to come back in a few years and find many more of the projects we had planned completed. I know you can do them, and I know you will do them. My work in New York will be Engineering Manager responsible for all building policy in the Bell System, but will not require so much of my time but what it would be possible to entertain some visitors from Michigan or possibly attend a major conference in Michigan. Again, good luck and best wishes. Sincerely, rez /-" e 1C _ Donald A.
