Adjourn AGENDA ITEM #4 At the last Springfield Township Board meeting I presented a set of plans for the shelter building and explained our progress. It was also explained to the Springfield Board that liquor at a golf course was an accepted part of the game of golf and also a necessity if the course was to be self suf- ficient. It was pointed out that equipment was costly and the time to install it would be in the very near future, but before our Park Commission took any action we would like to have some commitment from the Springfield Township Board on how they would react to an application from us for a class "C" license. After a short discussion a resolution stating "the Springfield Board would look favorably upon the application at the time it was presented." The resolution was adopted four (4) aye - one (1) nay. Recommendation: It is recommended that the Park Commission pass a reso- lution authorizing the Director to proceed with the necessary steps to obtain a class "C" license at Springfield -Oaks. AGENDA ITEM #5 Mr. Jack Vought, the Park Manager at White Lake -Oaks, will present slides on the before and after appearance of the second nine. We all can be proud of the performance our Park people did on this crash program. This nine will be one of the finest in our County and will make White Lake -Oaks a popular course and a profitable operation. The following are the costs for the project: 1. Revamping and correcting pump set up 2. New installation of entire sprinkling system 3. Moving and regrading (It is estimated over 150,000 yards of soil was moved) 4. Digging of lake, spreading and grading peat 5. Corregated metal tile (purchase from Road Commission) 6. Seed and fertilizer 7. Two small shelter buildings 8. Miscellaneous TOTAL $ 65965.94 5,500.00 19,694.00 149000.00 3,854.67 49454.50 710.57 473.32 $55,653.00 AGENDA ITEM #7 Signs Temporary signs have been designed and ordered. it is expected they will be erected next week. Estimated cost was $70.00 each. Eight signs were ordered. Marshbarik Park We have reviewed this area with the staff of H.C.M.A. They do not believe it serves a purpose as a regional park and have doubts that it would serve to the best advantage as a County Park. I concur with their :opinion. This area would make a wonderful community park and ideally should be under the jurisdiction of West Bloomfield Township, who now has a Parks and Recreation Commission. A working agreement between them and H.C.M.A. would be most logical. Personal opinions from the Township Supervisor and others follow this approach, however, a formal discussion or stand from the Township and Park Commission has not been taken. Work Orders T have approved work orders on Addison -Oaks Shelter Building as follows: 1. 411 drain the and pea gravel perimeter of building $ 710.00 2. Waterproof exterior 457.60 3. Excavation for drain tile and waterproofing 320.00 4. Change of roof shingles (not yet approved) 817.00 $2,304.60 10% overhead 230.46 5% profit 126.75 $2,661.81 It is recommended that a resolution authorizing the Director to approve necessary and emergency change orders be made. AGENDA ITEM #8 A copy of a letter from Mrs. Benjamin requesting an audience with the Parks Commission is attached. Also attached is information, from the Director, concerning this area.
