ITEM #7
1972 ANNUAL REPORT
If there are no questions pertaining to this report,
it is requested that it be received and placed on
file.
ITEM #8a
LEONARD PROPERTY
An offer of $49,500 has been made by the Board of
Auditors Real Estate Division to Mrs. Leonard for
her property on Scott Lake Road.
Official approval, to be written into the minutes,
is needed for proper documentation.
I hope that this offer will have been accepted by
the time we have our meeting on Friday.
ITEM #8b
TOILET/SHOWER FACILITY
GROVELAND-OAKS
CHANGE ORDER NO. 2
The furnishing and installing of two (2) electric
hand dryers were not in the original specifications
for this project. This was an oversight and should
be corrected. The change order would amount to an
add of $442.83. This is minus credit for soap
dispensers that we eliminated from the orginial
contract. Permission is requested to proceed with
this change order.
ITEM #9a
TRANSFER OF FUNDS
The P.E.P. Program is coming to an end. It is anticipated
that our funding will be shy of about $20,000 to complete
the fiscal year of 1973.
It is recommended that we keep all P.E.P. employees on
staff and in order to continue with this, it is requested
that a transfer of $20,000 from the contingency account to
salaries and wages account be initiated.
We have been very appreciative of this program and are very
disappointed that it is coming to an end. It has really
helped us gear up through the increased operation that we have
had over the last two (2) years. We have been fortunate that
we have not had to use our own funds for that period. Now we
must face reality and fund our operation to a 100 percent.
ITEM #9b
NATIONAL FOOD SHOW - CHICAGO
FOOD AND BEVERAGE DIVISION
Permission is requested to send William Wyant and
Robert Allen to the Food Show that is to be held
in Chicago, May 20 through 22, 1973. Estimated
expenses for both would be a total of $300.00.
ITEM #9c
1973 CAPITAL BUDGET
It is important that this budget be adopted as soon
as possible so we may proceed with our 1973 projects.
If at all possible, I would like to see this budget
adopted this coming Friday; if not, I request special
session as soon as possible to review it.

Oakland County, Michigan
The 1973 Capital Improvement Program gives an analysis
of all planned capital expenditures for the development
of the park system this year . It shows projects that
were started last year but will not be finished until
this fiscal year, as well as new projects. A project
request sheet is made up for all new projects.
As soon as the master plans are completed, a long range
capital program will be submitted for your review. This
will show you at least a five year projection.
We will have really accomplished something if we
accomplish this project list.
Respectfully,

A demonstration of this unit was conducted at the
Springfield Y.A.C. to see if it would correct the acoustic
problem in the large room. Once in place the unit eliminated
almost all of the echo created by the PA system.
Besides the YAC this portable stage can be used extensively
at other park sites, including those in South Oakland County,
for special outdoor programs. Such programs as concerts, plays,

These units are the size of a small travel trailer. Each unit contains
two bathrooms with one toilet in each room. They have a water supply tank
with the capacity of 1,000 flushes per toilet.
It is desirable to purchase two of these units for use at special large
groups affairs at the parks. In doing so, groups such as scouts and
corporate picnics can be placed in remote open areas for privacy. Now
they have to be near the day users or campers because of the restroom
locations.
These units can also be used in the parks on crowded weekends and
holidays when the existing facilities are over used.
They should also be of benefit during the development of both Independence
and Addison while the permanent facilities are being constructed.
Two units are desired so that one could be dumped while the other is
still in location.
Also, if it's a large group both would be used. If it's a small group,
only one would be used.
The purchase price of two, two -toilet units is less than one four -
toilet unit with the same capacity.
