ITEM #5
RESOLUTIONS
Members of Boy Scout Troop 1683 will be present to
receive the resolutions from the Commission as well
as representatives from the National Campers and
Hiker's Association.
I expect to have a photographer present for public
information purposes.
ITEM #6
DETROIT CONCERT BAND
Agreement will be available, prepared by Civil Counsel,
to be initiated by the Commission for the purpose of
having the Detroit Concert Band at the July 4th concert
at Springfield -Oaks.
It has been brought to my attention that the fee for
the band may have to be amended as I understand we are
too far from Detroit and $10.00 per person may have to
be added for transportation purposes. This is a union
mandate.
ITEM #7
RED RUN DRAIN
As you are aware, six members of the Parks and Recreation
Commission attended a meeting with Madison Heights and
the Department of Natural Resources pertaining to the Red
Run Drain.
It was determined in that meeting that further investigation
for the possibility of recreation facilities at this site
would be in order.
It has been requested by the Drain Commissioner that the
Parks and Recreation Commission pass a resolution requesting
the Drain Commission to contact the Corps of Engineers so
they may investigate the eventual possibility of recreation
development in this area. The reason for this is that the
Corps of Engineers, according to the agreements that control
the drain, has the final say on what is done to the area.
After receiving word from the Corps of Engineers as to
development possibility, it will be proper to hire a consul-
tant to thoroughly investigate the leisure time potentials
of this area.
