The tabulation of the bids received for each trade is shown on the attached sheets. The Architect, Construction Manager and this office recommend award and assignment of the following contracts contingent upon issuance of a Construction Permit by the State Health Department. Masonry Trade - Ebeling & Hicks, Inc. of Romeo in the amount of $31,400 (estimate was $61,500) Carpentry Trade - Emil Van Sile Company of Detroit in the amount of $45,400 (estimate was $36,950 but a wood roof was added after estimate was prepared) Precast Concrete - F. A. A total of 13 bids were received ranging from $147,448 to $198,363 (see attached bid tabulation sheet). The construction estimate for this work was $150,000. The project consists of the complete construction of two pre -fabricated metal buildings (similar to the existing one at Springfield -Oaks), one 40 feet by 100 feet (Independence -Oaks) and the other 40 feet by 60 feet (Groveland- Oaks). The background of the low bidder, der-Sel Corporation of Pontiac, has been reviewed and an award of contract in the amount of $147,448 is recommended to this firm. I i i, l i,. { i r � 1( REMARKS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE CUSTODIAL SERVICE As per a recent request from the Commission, the following quotes for the 1976 Administration Office Custodial Service were received from Purchasing: Monthly Yearly Boston Triple A. Cleaning $318.00 $3816.00 Atlas Maintenance Company 356.00 4272.00 Ward Newman 290.00 3480.00 Mr. Newman has been doing the office custodial service for the past six years and has provided the Commission with excellent service. Staff's recommendation is to award the custodial contract for 1976, in the amount of $290.00 per month, to Ward Newman. Yearly total: $3,480.00 Bids were received from Central Purchasing for the purchase of an Artic Cat snowmobile for Independence - Oaks Park. This vehicle will be used for mobility in the park during the winter months for maintenance, surveillance, and grooming of the cross-country ski trails. Funds for this purchase will come from the 1975 Capital Equipment Budget surplus. Bids received are as follows: M.G.' Sales $1,138.22 Pontiac Panther 1,514.00 Hamilton 1,525.00 It is staffs recommendation to award the bid to the low bidder, M. G. Sales for $1,138.22.
