Miller Company for the total amount of $7,797.00, Payment terms: Net 30 Delivery: 4 we-eks ARO Mowers are also to be delivered F.O.B. Destination to Parks & Recreation. This is a mower that has several very unique qualities that sets it apart from any other competitive mower in the industry. The items that make it unique are in the steering and the driving mechanism and also the attachments that can be put on this unit in regards to mowing, snow blowing, power brooms, and power angeling snow blades. This unit also has a water cooled engine, which makes its dura- bility and life span longer and also makes it run more efficient in regards to r..p.m. peak power curves. Through negotiations with Millers, we established a policy that they will sell us this mower at General Service Administration Federal Government Pricing. The only additional charges that we pay are freight and set up. W. F. Miller is the only company that distributes XL Hustler mowers. This unit has an established retail price somewhere in the area of $9500.00, Purchasing feels confident with the negotiations and pricing structure that took place in regards to the XL Hustler. ITEM #12 SUMMER UNIFORMS Each year we supply a uniform for all summer employees. The past few years we have been providing shirts, jackets, and swimsuits, all of which provide proper identification and a similar appearance. This year it is staff's desire to improve upon the appearance of our summer employees by providing pants, as well -as the shirts and jackets. It is felt that too often pants or slacks worn by the employees are not appropriate for good representation to the public. Adequate funds have been budgeted for this purchase and bids will be presented for your consideration at the com- mission meeting. ITEM #13 POSSIBLE SALE OF SMALL VACANT PARCEL WHITE LAKE OAKS Staff will present information at the meeting concerning the possible sale of 1.06 acres of vacant land that is surrounded on three sides by a subdivision and is part of our property at White Lake Oaks. Mr. Jack Hays, Civil Counsel, will also be present regarding this situation. Staff will be looking for the authority to contract with an appraiser to determine the feasibility of the land and the fair market value. ITEM #14 DETROIT NEWS HIGHAMERICA BALLOON FESTIVAL ADDISON OAKS PARK The Detroit News Highamerica Balloon Festival which has been held for the past four years in the Rochester area has requested permission to hold their festival at Addison Oaks Park. Attached you will find an official request from Linden F. Harding, their Director. Assistant Manager, Jon Kipke, and Park Supervisor, Frank Ostrowski, have met and discussed this request with Mr. Harding. They feel the event could take place at Addison Oaks on those dates and are recommending we allow them to have their festival at Addison. Highamerica is aware of the insurance requirements and are in the process of providing us with the necessary coverage. Staff is still working on how we are to share in the revenues of this event, as well as what services we will be providing to them. It is staff's opinion that this event could be a fine addition to our special park programs and it is recommended that permission be granted to Highamerica for their festival at Addison Oaks.
