---The Oakland County Board of Commissioners approved putting the millage
issue on the ballot August 5 with a unanimous vote of 23-0. Staff is in
the process of setting up a timetable for the campaign.
---Chairman Wint and I met with county executive candidate, Tom Lewand,
and had a very productive meeting orienting Mr. Lewand to the past history
of the parks and what the Commission is trying to do.
---Memorial Day weekend was a tremendous success participation wise. All
facilities were at capacity and very little trouble as far as problems
were concerned.
---Had two radio interviews prior to the Memorial Day weekend with WWJ and
WMJC and talked about the parks and the one -quarter mill.
---Letter was sent to the managing editor of the Daily Tribune by Mr. Wint
expressing the Commission's view pertaining to the millage renewal.
---Letter written to the Springfield Rotary Club and Springfield Fire
Department pertaining to the use of the YAC.
---Letter written to Springfield Township regarding a change in time for
alcoholic beverages to be sold at Springfield Oaks.
