ALL PARKS
Each year bids are solicited for purchase of calcium chloride to be
applied to the park roads and parking areas to control dust. Last year
the following gallons were applied at a rate of 28� per gallon from
ABC Oil Service:

Staff recommends awarding the purchase to the low bidder, ABC Oil Service,
for 26.5 cents per gallon. Funds are budgeted in the grounds maintenance
portion of the budget for this expenditure.
Based on last year's usage, total funds to be expended this year are
$14,031.75.

RED OAKS DRIVING RANGE
GOLF MERCHANDISE CONTRACT
A copy of the contract between the Parks and Recreation Commission and
the company wishing to sell golf merchandise at the Red Oaks Driving
Range is attached.
Civil Counsel prepared the contract and the vendor has agreed to all of
the terms. The "hold harmless" clause as requested by the Commission
at the last meeting is a part of the contract.

THIS AGREEMENT made this day of May, 1982,
between the COUNTY OF OAKLAND, a Michigan Constitutional
Corporation, whose address is 1200 North Telegraph Road, Pontiac,
Michigan 48053, and LAWRENCE DENTY, whose address is 2193 West
Grand Blanc Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439:
WHEREAS, the COUNTY OF OAKLAND, through its Parks and
Recreation Commission, is the owner of a golf course and driving
range located at 29601 John R., Madison Heights, Michigan 48071;
and
WHEREAS, LAWRENCE DENTY is a golf professional desirous
of operating a Pro Shop on said premises:
IT IS HEREBY AGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE PARTIES:
1. That LAWRENCE DENTY shall rent space on the premises
for the operation of a Pro Shop on a month -to -month basis during
the months of May through October of 1982, at the rate of Four
Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($400.00) per month.
2. That security window protection; a security entrance
gate, and a sign at the John R. entrance to the golf facility
advertising the Pro Shop shall be installed at the expense of
LAWRENCE DENTY, with the assistance and approval of the COUNTY OF
OAKLAND.
3. That LAWRENCE DENTY agrees to hold the COUNTY OF
-OAKLAND harmless from any and all liability arising from the ooer-
ation of the Pro Shop and further agrees to provide proof of
l-:�bi7.ity insurance to the COUNTY OF OAKLAND.
