ITEM #9
MANAGER'S REPORT
---The Road Commission has requested approximately 1500 yards of sand
from Orion Oaks Park. Details will be presented at the meeting.
---The ring beam for the new air structure at the Red Oaks Driving Range
has been completed. The structure should be up and in operation by the
end of November.

The proposed location would be on the east boundary of the course. Joe Figa
will give you more information about this at the meeting.
---The Halloween Fears and Fables Program conducted by the parks naturalist
at Independence Oaks was a huge success. A record number of 200 persons
participated. Unfortunately, another 50 or so desired to attend but could
not be accommodated.
---We have requested proposals for the exhibit area at the Nature Center.
Staff should be ready to present a proposal to the Commission at the
December meeting.
---Halloween Happiness was again held at the Michigan Inn. Portia Fields -
