AWARD: On behalf of. the Parks Commission, Recreation Supervisor Jim Dunleavy presented an award to mountain bike rider/volunteer Paul Bailey in recognition of and appreciation for his volunteer efforts in improving the mountain bike trails at Addison Oaks. EXECUTIVE OFFICER'S REPORT: In addition to the Executive Officer's Report filed in the agenda, the following was noted: —Executive Officer Richard reminded Commissioners of the recognition luncheon scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at White Lake Oaks. Along with recognition of employees' service, those Commissioners who recently left the board will be recognized for their years of service to the Commission. OLD BUSINESS: ---Executive Officer Richard reported on the status of the Trails Network Coordinator position, noting applications are currently being accepted, with a closing review date of April 4. ---In response to a question on the status of the marketing plan, Commissioner McCulloch noted that staff had met with him to review and discuss the plan. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Mr. McCulloch, supported by Mr. VanderVeen to adjourn the meeting. The project promotes socialization, mobility, independence and community integration. Through Community Connection, adults in Southeastern Michigan area with physical disabilities such as cerebral vascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, amputations, and multi - traumatic physical injuries will have the opportunity to participate. The goals of Community Connection are: 1. Outpatient recreational therapy, individuals and group services that address leisure education and community reintegration 2. Support groups which include families, run by members of the group focusing on advocacy and recreation areas such as arts and crafts, golfing, bowling, yoga. These clinics will be 3.
