ITEM #7
Annual Flower Contract Amendment
Nearly three years ago a three-year contract was set up with Gifts of
Remembrance, Inc. of Troy to provide the installation, plant care and removal of
annual flowers for the park system at a cost of $110,000. Overtime the scope of
services was increased to include supplying/planting perennials, fall mums and
spring pansies. This contract expires March 31, 2006.
As a result of the increase in scope and quantities requested by the nine
parks who utilize this contract, it is necessary to increase the contract cap to
$150,000.
The monies for these services are included in the operating budgets of the
parks using this contract within the grounds maintenance line item accounts.

previously owned by the Ellis family. The barn was donated to Oakland
County Parks by former major league baseball players Tim Birtsas and
Kirk Gibson, partners in RBI 33, LLC. The duo approached the parks
system four years ago to launch the rehabilitation project.
