Yes Previous Term Dates September 2022 through Present Explain why you would like to serve on this Board/Committee/Commission For over 12 years, in my professional and personal capacity, I have advocated for Land Banks and their purpose within Oakland County and the State of Michigan, which is to repurpose underutilized properties. The repurposing of these properties can result in the improvement of the community as a place while also enhancing the local tax base. It is an Authority that can truly make a difference for communities throughout Oakland County. As set forth in my resume, I help create and manage a nonprofit in the City of Hazel Park that acquired properties in a manner similar to a land bank and repurposed those properties. The organization, Cities for Urban Revitalization & Enhancement (d/b/a Land CURE) helped rehabilitate over 70 tax delinquent homes. The homes were sold to owner occupants that helped improve Hazel Park's tax base. The organization worked closely with the Oakland County Treasurer. I believe in the work Land Bank's can accomplish in a community and have experience operating an organization similar to a Land Bank. Thank you for your consideration. I served on the the Planning Commission from 7/23/2019 to 10/27/2020. Please detail any prior work-related or community service experience and skills that may contribute to the position you are seeking: As noted previously, I served as a policy fellow for amending state land bank legislation. I also co-founded a nonprofit, Land CURE, that acted similar to a land bank in the City of Hazel Park. Pleaded guilty on March 2, 2015 to Impaired Driving - Alcohol. The sentence included 1 year probation, community service, and certain alcohol related classes. I was released early from probation in September 21, 2015. In September of 2022, the court expunged this conviction. Have you ever been named a party in one or more civil lawsuits?
