We work diligently to ensure that contractors providing services for the department to Oakland County residents exceed expectations. I have been elected by my peers to represent District 6 of the Advisory Board of MCSSA where we have a direct link to key leaders within the Department affords us with the opportunity to recommend changes. I would like to continue to make an impact for Oakland County residents as we continue to ensure that contractors and vendors of Oakland County DHHS serve our residents well. ROSS As President and CEO of Ross Law Offices, PLLC, and Co-owner of Edward & Ross Publishing Company, LLC Sherrie serves as a National and International Business Consultant for both newly developed and well-established Corporations in the public and non-profit sectors. Attorney Ross has practiced as a Corporate and Entertainment Lawyer for over thirty-years. She participated in the launch of the first International Gospel concert uniting Gospel Artist from the United States and the Bahamas in a Soul-winning concert. She also served as a Basketball coach in the first Basketball Camp in the British Virgin Isles. She was inducted into the University of Michigan’s Hall of Fame September 6, 2009. This Hall of Famer has developed and implemented assessment plans, personnel policies and procedures, strategic planning sessions and other workshops and seminars to help business owners stay savvy while being in total compliance with state and federal regulations. Sherrie has represented various churches in various capacities. Most notably in problem solving and conflict resolution in congregational splits and assisted various pastors with personal legal issues. She served as the Consultant to the Michigan Concerned Clergy, as a Columnist to the Gospel USA Magazine and served as legal advisor to the New Citizens Press Newspaper. She is a Published author and Artist. Her works have been displayed publicly throughout Michigan. She is a life-time member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. While working with Athletes and Entertainers is fun and exciting, Sherrie’s heart is passionate for strengthening and preserving families and developing and implementing programs that empower families by creating economic self-sufficiency. She works endless hours most often pro bono assisting children in the Foster care and adoption system. Sherrie has worked as an advocate in the Juvenile Justice System since 1987. Attorney Ross currently serves on the Oakland County Department of Health & Human Services Board as the vice chairperson and on the MCSSA board as District 6 chairperson (which consists of the following counties: Branch/ Hillsdale; Ingham; Jackson; Lenawee; Livingston; Macomb; Oakland, Washtenaw; and Wayne) She previously served on the State’s Juvenile Justice Commission, State Foster Care Review Advisory Board for 8 years and the Wayne County Foster Care Review Board for 10 years. She has been a member of the Foster and Adoptive Parent Association of Michigan and has conducted statewide trainings on behalf of the Supreme Court of Michigan. She has met with a former Supreme Court Justice to address the issues youths face when they come to the attention of the Juvenile Court. Sherrie is the mother of seven active children and one 6-year-old grandson. Sherrie’s hobbies include running, writing, reading and painting.
