ITEM CATEGORY SPONSORED BY Resolution Brendan Johnson INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND Merit Rule 2 provides a process for departments and employees to request a review of the salary grade placement of classifications. The 1st Quarterly Report for FY 2024 identifies the job studies conducted, and the salary grade changes recommended by the Human Resources Department from October 2023 through December 2023. This Quarterly Report seeks approval for the following: • Create two new classifications for use in Parks & Recreation and one new classification for use in Children's Village, which have no current impact on positions. • Create one new classification for use in Emergency Management & Homeland Security, impacting two FTE positions. • Retitle four classifications with an increase in salary grade, impacting four FTE positions in Information Technology, Children's Village, County Treasurer, and the Friend of the Court. • Increase the salary grade of one classification, impacting two FTE positions in the Friend of the Court. POLICY ANALYSIS The FY 2024 1st Quarterly Report reflects the following classification changes: o 5 new classifications: o Information Technology, retitle from Chief Technical Services to new classification, Network Operations Manager o Parks and Recreation, Parks Data Analyst o Parks and Recreation, Natural Resources Technician o Children's Village, Children's Village Training & Development Specialist o Emergency Management & Homeland Security, Mobile Building Safety Attendant o Retitling 3 classifications with salary grade increases: o Treasurer/Administration, retitle from Treasurer Property Specialist to Property & Land Bank Authority Administrator o Children's Village, retitle from Human Services Contract Compliance Analyst to Children's Village Contract Compliance Supervisor o Circuit Court/Friend of the Court, retitle from FOC Systems Supervisor to Chief Assistant FOC Systems Operations o Salary Grade Change of 1 classification: o Circuit Court/Friend of the Court, Chief Assistant FOC Operation The Non-Dept.
