Let me know if I missed any of the points you asked about. Participating DST teams are expected to meet with assigned coach monthly, participate in Coursera courses relevant to their project, participate with evaluation activities, and submit reimbursements within 30 days of expenditure. They will also engage in the online community of practice on CSTE Connect. CSTE agrees that reimbursements will be processed within 30 business days of receipts, to provide an SME coach for the team, as well as have CSTE staff facilitate needs of the team regarding their project. And could you send it to us? Even if it’s not a perfect match for us and even if you need to redact the entities details, we’ll take it to work something up. Do you know a date for that approval? I’m pasting below what we’ve shared in the past with teams as a letter of support. However, we do have other options that we can discuss if the approval doesn’t come through. The goal of the program is flexibility, so we don’t have a lot of rules around expenditures, although they do need approval before they make the purchase. You can also look at our webpage to see what is offered through the program if that will help. Letter of Support The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) is pleased to support the team participating in the Data Science Team Training (DSTT) program. DSTT is a team-based, on-the job training program to promote data science upskilling at public health agencies. Learners in the program work collaboratively on a project that addresses a current agency need related to DMI. As part of the program, the team receives a training stipend of $12,000 and is expected to spend the stipend on training, books, and other Data Modernization Initiative-related expenditures to achieve their project goals. I hope this helps. Let me know if there are any other questions. We can click in the affirmative on the buttons below, so long as we all understand that it means that we cannot officially accept the funding and participation in the program until reviewed and signed by the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners. We do not anticipate any issues, but we are required to go through this process. CAUTION: This message is from a sender outside of the Oakland County organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. To help us, do you have any kind of an existing template or example of an agreement that you have signed with another participant? I’m looking for anything that might list out deliverables for what we as the grantee officially agree to (e.g. participate in evaluations, submit reimbursements no less than quarterly, etc.) and what your agency as the grantor officially agrees to (e.g. provide technical guidance, review and process reimbursement requests within 30 days, etc.). The stipend for this year is $12,000. We operate on a reimbursement basis with proper documentation- we found that giving a subaward type of agreement took a lot of time and it made it difficult for teams to take advantage of the funding, so we’ve successfully used this method for 2 years and it has been much easier. a. We give teams a few options. They can personally pay and be reimbursed, as long as it is an approved expense. We can also reimburse the agency if the agency pays for the expense. We have a few vendors that we can also pay directly if people take courses through them. 2. We do not have an agreement that you must sign. The award letter that Lauren can download from their application sign in is meant to be a letter of support so that agencies that need some documentation can have that to share with leadership. 3. The stipend is paid for through CSTE’s Cooperative Agreement with CDC. 4. If the team answers the questions, we do assume that they will participate in the program and utilize the funding. However, if there are issues with that, we are happy to work with you so that the team can accept the funding. I know this process is different for each agency, so please let me know if you have any further questions. For us to officially accepted funding, the Board of Commissioner Chairperson must sign off on the agreement and acceptance of the funding within our county grant policy. I have a few questions that might or might not be relevant at this stage: 1. Do we have an exact funding amount that will be given? a. Will we get the funding up front, and we just need to report how we used the funding? Or… b. Will have to submit invoices to you for reimbursement? Or… c. Will we not receive any funding directly from you and we simply coordinate with you what we will be doing and our account receives no money directly? 2. Is there an agreement for funding acceptance? Our Corporation Counsel, Risk Management, and Fiscal Services team members will need to review the funding agreement prior the Chairperson signing off on the funding acceptance. 3. Do we know the source of the funding (e.g. federal grant, private funding, etc.)? 4. Does answering any of these questions officially mean that we accept the funding? Or is this just a double check that we’re still interested in the training program and more funding details will be forthcoming and it does NOT obligate us to accept the funding at this time? Let me know if it’s easier to have a quick 30 minutes meeting instead of back and forth emails. Thanks for working with us to give us this training opportunity.
