ITEM CATEGORY SPONSORED BY Staffing Modification Penny Luebs INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND The Court employs an Adult Treatment Court (ATC) an alternative to incarceration. The ATC receives grant funding from the State Court Administrative Office. Recent legislation has greatly increased program participation in the ATC. New Juvenile Justice reforms require positions that were 50% supporting the ATC program to return to Juvenile Casework under a separate resolution. The Circuit Court has reviewed its operations and determined efficiencies could be achieved by returning the position of Community Service Coordinator to the ATC. It has been determined that the position will allow for a greater portion of the grant to be used for other grant related costs such as drug testing, incentives, and therapy. The position of Community Service Coordinator will be fully funded by the ATC grant. The recreation of this position will allow for two dedicated FTE positions to support the growing number of ATC participants; one (1) FTE Community Service Coordinator and one (1) existing FTE Technical Office Assistant. Positions of Youth and Family Casework Supervisor and Technical Office Specialist from Adult Treatment Court Grant funding will be removed from the ATC grant and returned to Juvenile Casework Services under separate resolution. BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: No Committee members can contact Michael Andrews, Policy and Fiscal Analysis Supervisor at 248.425.5572 or andrewsmb@oakgov.com or the department contact persons listed for additional information.
