ITEM CATEGORY SPONSORED BY Interlocal Agreement Penny Luebs INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND The Pontiac School District has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to provide school resource officers for the school district (MR #2023-3421 _ 23-144) and paragraph XIII of the agreement provided that an amendment of this agreement must be approved by a resolution of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and the Pontiac School District. The Pontiac School District has requested to add one (1) Patrol Sergeant position beginning on October 19, 2024 and continuing until the current agreement expires or is terminated. POLICY ANALYSIS This amendment will add one Sergeant position to two already existing Deputy II positions in the Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Services Division, Pontiac Unit (#4030629). The original agreement, approved via MR #2023-3421 _ 23-144 is expiring on December 31, 2024. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to create one (1) GF/GP full-time eligible Sergeant position in the Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Services Division, Pontiac Unit (#4030629). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) marked patrol vehicle with mobile radio, MDC, and Video Camera be added to the County fleet to satisfy the requirements of this agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) cell phone, one (1) body-worn cameras and one (1) prep radis be added to inventory to satisfy the requirements of this agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the future level of services, including the continuation of positions, is contingent upon the level of funding associated with this agreement. Schedule A beginning on the effective date of this Amendment 1. The attached Exhibit 1 – Schedule A replaces and supersedes the Exhibit 1 - Schedule A attached to the Agreement beginning on the effective date of this Amendment 1. This Amendment 1 shall take effect on October 19, 2024 and shall continue until the Agreement expires or is terminated. All other provisions in the Agreement not otherwise affected by the attached Exhibit 1 remain in full force and effect. FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments, set forth in this Amendment 1 and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment 1 on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this Amendment 1. SIGNATURES, Each individual signing this Agreement certifies by their signature that they are authorized to sign this Agreement on behalf of the party for whom they are signing and by doing so does hereby bind the party to the terms of this Agreement.
