Service, National Computer Forensics Institute with an estimated value of $20,000.

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
The National Computer Forensics Institute is providing a trained and certified two-year-old
electronics detection K-9, and the necessary training for the handler.
The Sheriff’s Office has received a donation of one (1) Electronics Detection K-9 from United States
Secret Service (USSS), National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) with an estimated value of
$20,000. The Electronics Detection K-9 will be assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Computer Crimes
Unit.
POLICY ANALYSIS
If the Handler or K-9 Canine are retired, the Handler has the option to purchase the K-9 for $1.00.
No additional funds will be required to cover the cost of food, veterinary care, grooming, boarding
when necessary, equipment, and other related items because funds are included in the Oakland
County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit FY 25 budget.
