INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
Capital Planning and Design (CPD) and the Purchasing Division solicited a proposal to replace the
millwork, furniture, finishes, and electrical in the Building Safety Dispatch area at the Public Works
Building (95W) from our annual competitively bid and selected contractors. ISCG Inc., provided the
best value bid.
The total project cost is $96,191.85, including $28,712.61 for construction costs, $8,200.00 for
electrical, $2,600 in moves, $44,132.48 for new furniture, and $12,546.76 for
contingencies. Funding in the amount of $96,191.85 is available for transfer from the FY 2025
Capital Improvement Program/Building Improvement Fund (#40100) to the Project Work Order Fund
(#40400) for the Building Safety Dispatch Renovations Project.
POLICY ANALYSIS
The scope of work is to remove and replace outdated millwork, furniture and finishes at the Building
Safety’s badging desk location and the dispatch center location, within the public works building.
The new furniture will accommodate modern technology, address power and wire-management
needs, create ADA accessible maneuverability in the rooms/areas, and provide updated ergonomics
for the department users. The new room finishes will provide carpet with static dissipative qualities,
vinyl tile flooring in the high-traffic areas in lieu of carpet, along with new patching/paint of the walls
where the outdated millwork is removed.
