Democratic Caucus Minutes
March 18, 2025 at 8:30 AM
1. Call Meeting to Order
Chair Angela Powell called the meeting of the Democratic Caucus to order at 11:04 AM in
Committee Room A 1200 N. Telegraph Road, 12E, Pontiac, MI 48341.
2. Roll Call
MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Cavell, Ann Erickson Gault, Marcia Gershenson, Penny
Luebs, Gwen Markham, Kristen Nelson, Angela Powell, Yolanda Smith Charles, Linnie
Taylor, David Woodward (10)
MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Brendan Johnson, William Miller III (2)
3. Public Comment
No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment #1.
4. Approval of Minutes
a. Board of Commissioners - dated March 6, 2025
Ann Erickson Gault moved approval of the Minutes dated March 6, 2025, as
presented. Seconded by Marcia Gershenson.
Motion Passed.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the Minutes dated March 6, 2025,
were approved.
5. Discussion Items
Commissioner David Woodward addressed the Caucus to introduce James Nash, Water
Resources Commissioner.
James Nash, Water Resources Commissioner and Steven Korth, WRC Chief Manager,
addressed the Caucus to give a presentation entitled: New Facility Project.
Chris Ward, Director, Parks & Recreation addressed the Caucus regarding the WRC
presentation.
Discussion followed.
Chair Angela Powell addressed the Caucus to read the Caucus announcements.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner David Woodward addressed the Caucus regarding Public Health and
Safety Committee item entitled: Health & Human Services - Health Division -
Reassignment of Children's Village Medical Clinic Service Operations from Public
Services to Health & Human Services.
Leigh-Anne Stafford, Director, Health & Human Services, Barbara Hankey, Director,
Public Services and Madiha Tariq, Deputy County Executive, addressed the Caucus to
discuss Public Health and Safety Committee item entitled: Health & Human Services -
Health Division - Reassignment of Children's Village Medical Clinic Service Operations
from Public Services to Health & Human Services.
Discussion followed.
6. Public Comment
The following people addressed the Caucus during Public Comment #2: Robin McGregor,
Oakland County staff, Yvonne Miller, Marvin Vaughn and Oakland County staff.

The meeting adjourned on March 20th, 2025, at 12:59 AM.
