Board of Commissioners - Resolution Supporting Michigan House Bill 4210 to Enhance
Transportation Infrastructure Funding
Chair and Members of the Board:
WHEREAS Michigan House Bill 4210, introduced by Representative Jason Morgan on March 11,
2025, seeks to amend Section 25 of 1933 PA 167 (MCL 205.75) to modify the distribution and
disposition of sales tax revenues to the Comprehensive Transportation Fund (CTF); Michigan House
Bill 4210and
WHEREAS this legislation represents a meaningful investment in Michigan’s transportation future by
boosting funding for public transit systems that connect residents to critical destinations, including
employment centers, educational institutions, health care providers, and community resources; and
WHEREAS HB 4210 supports communities—particularly those in urban and suburban areas—where
reliable public transit is essential for daily life, economic participation, and equitable access to
opportunity; and
WHEREAS robust and accessible public transit contributes to Michigan’s economic growth,
environmental sustainability, and quality of life by reducing congestion, improving air quality, and
providing affordable mobility options; and
WHEREAS the bill is currently under review by the House Transportation and Infrastructure
Committee and reflects a commitment to meeting the growing demand for enhanced transit services
across the state.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners supports
the passage of Michigan House Bill 4210 as a vital step toward strengthening Michigan's
transportation infrastructure and ensuring a prosperous future for its residents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds is requested to
forward copies of this adopted resolution to the Governor of the State of Michigan, the State Senate
Majority and Minority leaders, the State House Speaker and Minority leader, the members of the
Oakland County delegation to the Michigan Legislature, and the Board of Commissioner’s legislative
lobbyist.
