INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
It is the policy of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to permit the Sheriff's Office to enter
into agreements with townships, villages, and cities for the purpose of providing Sheriff's marine
patrol services. The County Executive and the Sheriff developed the marine patrol agreement rates
for the period commencing May 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027.
POLICY ANALYSIS
The 2022, 2023, and 2024 rates were approved as detailed below, via MR #22-125.
FISCAL IMPACT: No Budget Amendment Needed

Sheriff’s Office - Establishing Marine Patrol Services Agreement Rates for May 1, 2025 through
December 31, 2027
Chair and Members of the Board:
WHEREAS it is the policy of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to permit the Sheriff's
Office to enter into agreements with townships, villages, and cities for the purpose of providing
Sheriff's marine patrol services; and
WHEREAS the County Executive and the Sheriff developed the marine patrol agreement rates for the
period commencing May 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves
the following marine patrol agreement rates per deputy for Law Enforcement Services for the period
May 1, 2025, through December 31, 2027:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2027 Marine Patrol Services Agreement Rates are subject to
changed based on the Inflation Rate Multiplier (IRM) as provided by the Michigan State Tax
Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that budget amendments will be included with the individual Marine
Patrol Services agreements.
