ITEM 8. Agreement for Election Services between Oakland County and Bloomfield
Township
Clerk Martin Brook reviewed the Agreement for Election Services between Oakland County and
Bloomfield Township. This agreement was previously discussed at the Board’s June 9th regular
meeting. The Agreement will allow the Township to coordinate the processing of absentee ballots
with Oakland County. The County will be responsible for processing ballots received up to the
Monday before an election, 4:00 p.m. Ballots received after that time will be handled by the
Township. The County can use the same staff hired and trained by the Township. This
arrangement will streamline election administration, provide for cost savings, and, most
importantly, speed up the counting of the ballots.
MOTION by Murray and SUPPORT by Kolinski to APPROVE, as Presented, the Agreement for
Election Services between Oakland County and Bloomfield Township, Subject to Modification
through Legal Review and to Authorize the Clerk to Terminate the Agreement if Deemed
Appropriate. (Exhibit 2).
A voice vote was called.
MOTION DECLARED ADOPTED 6-0.

Clerk/Register of Deeds/Elections Division – Election Services Agreement Fee Schedule for Municipal Absentee Voter Ballot
Counting.
As required by Urban Cooperation Act 7 of 1967 - MCL 124.510(4), a copy of the signed agreement with the County of
Oakland and the Township of Bloomfield, and the authorizing Board of Commissioners Resolution are enclosed for filing
by your office.
