MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONERS
CALL TO ORDER:
The Board of County Election Commissioners meeting was called to order by the Honorable Jennifer
Callaghan on February 19, 2026 at 3:33 p .m., in the Oakland County Elections Division, Board of
Canvassers/Training Room, 1st floor, West Wing Extension, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac, MI 48341.
ROLL CALL:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Callaghan, Brown. (2)
ABSENT: Wittenberg. (1)
OTHERS PRESENT : Joseph J. Rozell, Director of Elections; and Ella Mills, Elections Supervisor.
Moved by BROWN supported by CALLAGHAN to appoint Karen McDonald as a Member of the Election
Commission. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Moved by BROWN seconded by MCDONALD to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Moved by BROWN seconded by MCDONALD to approve the minutes of the October 3, 2025, Board of
County Election Commissioners Meeting. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
A. APPROVAL OF BALLOTS FOR THE MAY 5, 2026 SPECIAL ELECTION.
Discussion followed.
Judge Callaghan stated that sample ballots were submitted to the commissioners for approval.
The commissioners reviewed the ballots submitted for Bloomfield Township, Precinct 4 and Rochester Hills,
Precinct 13. Judge Callaghan asked for a motion to approve all ballots for the May 5, 2026 Special Election.
Moved by BROWN seconded by MCDONALD that the ballots be approved.
VOTE ON APPROVAL OF BALLOTS: AYES: BROWN, MCDONALD, CALLAGHAN. (3)
NAYS: NONE. (0)
The ballots were APPROVED.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
Moved by BROWN seconded by CALLAGHAN that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
Judge Callaghan adjourned the meeting at 3:35 p.m.
