6. Project Overview: Briefly describe the proposed project, including its purpose, goals, and
intended outcomes: The Paint Creek Center for the Arts is requesting sponsorship support for the
Main Stage at the 2026 Art & Apples Festival®, scheduled for September 11–13, 2026, at
Rochester Municipal Park. The Art & Apples Festival is ranked the #11 Fine Art & Design Festival in
the country and is the highest-ranking festival in Michigan. The three-day event features more than
280 juried fine artists, over 25 food vendors, live entertainment throughout the weekend, and
attracts more than 60,000 attendees. The Main Stage is one of the most prominent and heavily
attended locations within the festival, featuring live music and entertainment programming
throughout the event. Sponsorship of the Main Stage provides naming rights, prominent recognition,
and on-site engagement opportunities. The festival serves as PCCA’s primary annual fundraiser
and supports year-round arts education programming and community arts initiatives throughout
Oakland County. The intended outcome of this sponsorship is to support regional arts programming,
stimulate local economic activity, and enhance public access to high-quality cultural experiences for
Oakland County residents.
7. Project Type: Please select the type of Special Project Request. This request should be
categorized as a sponsorship, as it involves financial support for a nonprofit-led community cultural
event.
8. Provide a proposed budget breakdown for the project, including but not limited to the estimated
cost of the overall project, and specifically how much you are asking the Board of Commission
(BOC) to contribute: Commissioners Johnson and Spisz are requesting a $10,000 sponsorship to
serve as the exclusive Main Stage Sponsor for the 2026 Art & Apples Festival®. The Main Stage
Sponsorship level includes naming rights to the Main Stage, prominent on-site sponsor recognition,
logo placement, a 10’ x 10’ booth space, a dedicated press release, and the opportunity to distribute
promotional materials. The overall festival budget is supported through multiple sponsorship
packages, vendor fees, artist participation fees, and fundraising efforts, with the festival serving as
the primary annual fundraiser for the Paint Creek Center for the Arts.
9. Provide a detailed timeline for implementation of the project: The Art & Apples Festival® will take
place September 11–13, 2026. Sponsorship commitments, marketing coordination, and promotional
materials will be finalized in advance of the festival. Funds provided by the County will be applied
directly toward festival production costs associated with staging, entertainment programming,
logistics, and event operations.
10. Provide detail on any possible funding partners or matching funds: The festival secures funding
from multiple corporate and community sponsors at various levels, including Presenting Sponsor,
Main Stage Sponsor, Kids Art Zone Sponsor, and others. The County’s sponsorship would be one
of several contributions supporting the overall production and sustainability of the event.
11. Describe the anticipated impact of the project and how its success will be evaluated: The Art &
Apples Festival® attracts over 60,000 attendees annually, drawing visitors from across Oakland
County and Michigan. The festival supports local artists, food vendors, musicians, and small
businesses while generating significant economic activity in Rochester and surrounding
communities. Success will be evaluated through attendance numbers, vendor participation, media
exposure, sponsor engagement, and community feedback. Continued growth in attendance and arts
programming supported by PCCA throughout the year will serve as additional indicators of impact.
12. Include any additional information or supporting documents relevant to the project: The Art &
Apples Festival® is nationally ranked and serves as the primary fundraiser for the Paint Creek
Center for the Arts, which provides arts education and programming throughout Oakland County.
Sponsorship of the Main Stage provides high visibility at one of the festival’s most active and
popular locations and directly supports community arts access and cultural enrichment.
