Motion to approve a one-time allotment of $5,000 from the FY 2026 Board of Commissioners’
General Fund Sponsorship line-item budget to sponsor the Lyon Township Downtown Development
Authority’s Music on the Grand Summer Concert Series. Further, authorize the Board Chair to
execute any required agreements on behalf of Oakland County. Additionally, require that the
recipient publicly promote the County’s support as a Series Sponsor and submit an impact report to
the Board of Commissioners by the end of the calendar year, detailing the outcomes of the concert
series, including attendance, participation, and the number of Oakland County residents served.

Music on the Grand Summer Concert Series, Free live music in the downtown with free family
friendly activities

What is the total budget for the overall project, program, or event, and what is the specific
amount requested from the Board of Commissioners? Please present both figures clearly
and explain how the requested amount fits into the total budget.
$22,000 total budget, requesting $5,000 support from BOC
Please provide a narrative budget explanation describing what costs exist in the overall
budget and which costs the Board’s requested funds would pay for.
$13,000 for Band/Sound Fees, $3,300 Stage Rental, $700 restrooms, $3,450 Games/Activities,
$1,350 Advertising
$5,000 would be utilized to cover games/activities and the remaining portion would help offset band
costs
Please describe all confirmed funding partners, matching funds, sponsorships, or in-kind
contributions, and specify the amount or estimated value of each.
We have $22,000 allocated from our TIF funded DDA budget, we also expect to have $5,000
contributed from local business sponsors
If contributions are not yet confirmed, please describe what is anticipated, what is pending,
and when decisions will be made.
We currently have 1 of 5 local business sponsorships confirmed for $1,000
If the Board does not fund this request, what would change, be reduced, or not occur?
If no funding is granted we would likely pare down on free activities provided if additional sponsors
were not secured
Please explain the public purpose of the project in clear terms, including how Oakland
County residents will benefit.
Free family activity with live music and games provided, the concerts also bring in visitors which
benefits local businesses with additional shoppers and visitors to local restaurants
Please explain what the County receives in return for the expenditure. If the request is a
sponsorship, describe recognition benefits. If the request is a program, describe program
deliverables and measurable public outcomes.
The County would be listed as a "Series Sponsor" on promotional materials including print
campaigns, social media, Township newsletter and have a social media feature produced by our
Marketing Manager
If this request includes improvements to property not owned by Oakland County, please
explain who owns the property, who will control and maintain the improvements, and how
the public will have continued access to the benefit funded by the County.

First concert occurs June 10, the final concert scheduled for Aug. 19

Lyon Township residents and surrounding areas. We have an expected attendance of between
300–500 per evening
Please describe how success will be evaluated and what measurable outcomes will be
reported.
Success is measured by the safe completion of each event; we will be taking an attendance count
with the support of our local Oakland County Sheriff's staff
Please confirm that the organization will submit an outcomes report to the Board of
Commissioners by the end of the calendar year and describe what that report will include,
such as attendance, participation, services delivered, and resident impact.
