Further, authorize the Board Chair to execute any required agreements on behalf of Oakland County. Additionally, require that the recipient ensure appropriate recognition of the County’s support and submit an outcomes report to the Board of Commissioners by the end of the calendar year, detailing the results of the Summit, including participation, regional engagement, and the impact on Oakland County residents. Funding support for the Tri-County Summit Is this request best classified as a sponsorship of an event or support for a program? Sponsorship generally supports a one-time event and includes recognition/visibility, while a Program supports services, deliverables, or lasting community benefit beyond a single event. While the Summit is not a general public event, it is open to invited participants and stakeholders whose work and leadership directly impact Oakland County residents and the broader region. Please present both figures clearly and explain how the requested amount fits into the total budget. "The amount requested from the Oakland County Board of Commissioners is $5,000. These funds will be used to help offset a portion of the event-related expenses, including facility costs, event logistics, and coordination efforts. The Summit is a collaborative effort between Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties, with each contributing staff time, planning resources, and operational support as in-kind contributions. Oakland County residents benefit from enhanced regional collaboration, shared best practices, and coordinated strategies that address complex, cross-jurisdictional challenges. Please explain what the County receives in return for the expenditure. If the request is a sponsorship, describe recognition benefits. If the request is a program, describe program deliverables and measurable public outcomes. In return for the expenditure, the County will receive tangible and intangible benefits, including strengthened regional partnerships, increased visibility as a co-host, and actionable policy discussions that inform future decision-making. If this request includes improvements to property not owned by Oakland County, please explain who owns the property, who will control and maintain the improvements, and how the public will have continued access to the benefit funded by the County. Planning and preparation for the Tri-County Summit is an ongoing, collaborative effort carried out by staff from Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties throughout the year. Please describe who will benefit from the project, including estimated number of Oakland County residents served and which communities or geographic areas are expected to participate. The Tri-County Summit will benefit residents across Oakland County, as well as the broader Southeast Michigan region, including Wayne and Macomb Counties. While attendance is primarily composed of leaders and decision-makers, the outcomes of the Summit are intended to benefit the County’s full population through improved policy coordination, service delivery, and regional collaboration. Please describe how success will be evaluated and what measurable outcomes will be reported. Success of the Summit will be evaluated through several outcomes, including total attendance, diversity and level of participation among elected officials and stakeholders, and the quality and quantity of policy discussions generated. Additional indicators include the identification of actionable strategies, new or strengthened partnerships, and post-event collaboration efforts. Feedback from participants and stakeholders will also be collected to assess the effectiveness and impact of the Summit.
