Further, authorize the Board Chair to execute any required agreements on behalf of Oakland County. Additionally, require that the recipient publicly promote the County’s support as a primary Sponsor and submit an impact report to the Board of Commissioners by the end of the calendar year, detailing the outcomes of the concert series, including attendance, participation, and the number of Oakland County residents served. International Kitefest, free family festival with music, entertainment, food vendors, and kite flying demonstrations for all ages! Is this request best classified as a sponsorship of an event or support for a program? Sponsorship If this request includes an event, please provide the event date(s), location(s), expected attendance, and whether the event is free and open to the public. Saturday & Sunday, June 6th & 7th, James Atchison Memorial Park (58000 Grand River Ave, New Hudson), 7,000 visitors, free and open to the public What is the total budget for the overall project, program, or event, and what is the specific amount requested from the Board of Commissioners? Please present both figures clearly and explain how the requested amount fits into the total budget. $40,000 total budget, requesting $10,000 support from OC BOC Please provide a narrative budget explanation describing what costs exist in the overall budget and which costs the Board’s requested funds would pay for. $16,000 Entertainment, $10,000 Equipment/Site Services/Set Up, $4,000 Marketing, $4,000 Insurance/Accounting, $4,000 Travel Accommodations for International and traveling flyers, $2,000 Volunteer Costs (food, shirts, supplies) Please describe all confirmed funding partners, matching funds, sponsorships, or in-kind contributions, and specify the amount or estimated value of each. Anticipated sponsorships $30,000 which includes $10,000 from the Charter Township of Lyon, and $20,000 from other businesses and hopefully the OC BOC. In kind sponsors include Szott Jeep, Blakes Orchards, Pinz, Alta Equipment, Wonder Jump, Big Frog, Blank Space Event Room, MJS Music, Americana Estate Sales, Tangle Wood, Kites and Fun Things, Reyes Coca-Cola. In Kind Sponsorships are estimated at over $10,000. If contributions are not yet confirmed, please describe what is anticipated, what is pending, and when decisions will be made. We currently have $15,450 confirmed in sponsorships. We anticipate another $14,550 to come in. If the Board does not fund this request, what would change, be reduced, or not occur? If no more funding is secured prior to the end of May we may have to start paring down on free entertainment options. Please explain the public purpose of the project in clear terms, including how Oakland County residents will benefit. This event provides residents of Oakland County an opportunity to share time with families in a fun and free environment. Kiteflying is a unique activity for families to take part in and events like this are not common in the area. This event also brings in lots of visitors into the County creating more commerce for local businesses. Please explain what the County receives in return for the expenditure. If the request is a sponsorship, describe recognition benefits. If the request is a program, describe program deliverables and measurable public outcomes. LEO would be providing a banner recognizing OC BOC as sponsors, added to print materials produced after confirmation of sponsorship, added to all online marketing, sponsorship yard sigh, a descriptive write up of your organization on the sponsor page on the website and social media, parking passes, recognition at the volunteer appreciation celebration and logo on kite stickers. If this request includes improvements to property not owned by Oakland County, please explain who owns the property, who will control and maintain the improvements, and how the public will have continued access to the benefit funded by the County. NA Please provide a clear implementation timeline with start date, milestones (if applicable), and completion date. First volunteer meeting occured in January, 2026. Committee meetings take place between 1-2 times per month. The event runs June 6th & 7th. Please describe who will benefit from the project, including estimated number of Oakland County residents served and which communities or geographic areas are expected to participate. Lyon Township and surrounding areas. We expect attendance of between 7,500 - 9,000 this year. Please describe how success will be evaluated and what measurable outcomes will be reported. Success will be determined by the completion of a safe festival, we will be taking an attendance count with the support of our local Oakland County Sherrif's staff Please confirm that the organization will submit an outcomes report to the Board of Commissioners by the end of the calendar year and describe what that report will include, such as attendance, participation, services delivered, and resident impact.
