Motion to approve a one-time allotment of $5,000 from the FY 2026 Board of Commissioners’
General Fund Sponsorship line-item budget to sponsor the 2026 Lathrup Village Music Festival.
Further, authorize the Board Chair to execute any required agreements on behalf of Oakland
County. Additionally, require that the recipient publicly promote the County’s support as a primary
Sponsor and submit an impact report to the Board of Commissioners by the end of the calendar
year, detailing the outcomes of the concert series, including attendance, participation, and the
number of Oakland County residents served.

result.
Funding support for the 2026 Lathrup Village Music Festival, a free, family-friendly community event
featuring live music, vendors, food trucks, and entertainment. The public receives free admission,
free parking, and access to a full day of inclusive community programming.

Sponsorship generally supports a one-time event and includes recognition/visibility, while a
Program supports services, deliverables, or lasting community benefit beyond a single

Lathrup Village, MI. Expected attendance approximately 2,000. The event is free and open to the
public, including free parking and a free Family Fun Zone.
What is the total budget for the overall project, program, or event, and what is the specific
amount requested from the Board of Commissioners? Please present both figures clearly
and explain how the requested amount fits into the total budget.
Total budget: $37,600. Requesting $5,000 from the Board of Commissioners, which would support
police/security and printing/mailing costs.
Please provide a narrative budget explanation describing what costs exist in the overall
budget and which costs the Board’s requested funds would pay for.
The budget includes entertainment (musicians, staging, sound, lighting), family activities, fencing,
printing and mailing, police/security, insurance, permits, portable restrooms, promotions, and event
operations. The requested $5,000 would specifically cover police/security and printing/mailing
expenses.
Please describe all confirmed funding partners, matching funds, sponsorships, or in-kind
contributions, and specify the amount or estimated value of each.
Confirmed contributions total approximately $25,250, including:
• $10,000 – Lathrup Village DDA
• $3,000 – Community Congregational Church
• $2,000 – Holbrook Auto Parts
• $1,500 – Giffels Webster
• $1,500 – Jagged Fork
• $1,000 – Surnow, Scott Baker, Davey Trees, Jive Turkeys Detroit
• Additional sponsors ranging from $200–$750
• In-kind contributions include discounted printing, beverages, transportation (golf carts),
videography, and event setup materials

The festival promotes community engagement, cultural enrichment, and economic activity by
bringing together residents from across Oakland County for a free, inclusive event that supports
local vendors and businesses.

Oakland County would receive recognition as a presenting sponsor, including logo placement on
marketing materials, social media promotion, event signage, stage mentions, and potential naming
rights as “Presented by Oakland County.”

explain who owns the property, who will control and maintain the improvements, and how
the public will have continued access to the benefit funded by the County.

West Bloomfield.

Success will be measured by attendance (estimated by the Police Department), successful event
