RE: LOCAL CANVASS OF AUGUST 4, 1998 PRIMARY
Dear Ms. Hammond:
The Charter Township of Orion Local Board of Canvassers met on Wednesday,
August 5, 1998, to canvass the results of the local safety path millage question which appeared
on the August 4, 1998 Primary ballot. Attached is a certified copy of the results. Please note the
canvass of the votes revealed a 100 vote increase in the "No" votes which were reported on
election night.

Township of Orion, having ascertained and canvassed the votes for the Charter Township of
Orion for the Primary Election held Tuesday, August 4, 1998, do hereby certify the attached

CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF ORION 0 LOCAL PROPOSAL LANGUAGE:
Shall the Charter Township of Orion be authorized to renew the levy ot 020J of one
mill, and to levy an additional 0.0487 of one mill (a total of 1/4 mill) for a period of ten -
(10) years, starting with the December 1998 levy, for the establishment, construction, and
maintenance of safety paths in the Township. Approval of this proposal would result in a
tax limitation increase of approximately 250 per $1,000 of taxable value on all property
in the Township. It is estimated that this proposal would result in the authorization to
collect $283,526 in the first year if approved and levied.
