Very, truly yours, William J. lEmercon SupeKinte WjE/mk Enclosures CANVASSING AFFIDAVIT STATE OF MICHIGAN SS COUNTY OF OAKLAND The undersigned members of the Oakland County Board of Canvassers, do hereby certify and declare that they met June /ic 1 1964 as a Board of Canvassers for the purpose of canvassing votes cast June 8, 1964 on the following Questions and for election of a First Board of Trustees, as submitted to the electors in the territory of the proposed Community College District, for the pur- pose of determining whether a Community College District should be established in Parts of the Counties of Oakland, Washtenaw, Livingston, and Lapeer, and that the votes cast, and tallied by the Canvassing Boards of all the school districts comprising the territory of the proposed Community College District, were counted, 0 canvassed and tallied by this Board of Canvassers, and that the total votes duly and properly cast for and against each of the following Questions and for the candidates for the First Board of Trustees of the proposed Community College District, were as follows: COMMUNITY COLLEGE QUESTION SHALL Act 188 of the Public Acts of 1955, as amended being Sections 390.871 and following of the Compiled Laws of 1948 be adopted and be effective in a Community College District to be known as the Community College District of Parts of the Counties of Oakland, Washtenaw, Livingston and Lapeer? STATEMENT OF PURPOSE OF ELECTION THE purposes of the election are to authorize the establishment and oper- ation of a Community College to provide collegiate and non-collegiate level and vocational-technical education, and the acquisition, construction, own- ership, development and maintenance of facilities of the Community Col- lege, and to authorize the levy of taxes by the Board of Trustees of the Community College District for the support of the Community College in an amount not to exceed a maximum annual rate, and to elect a first Board of Trustees of the Community College District, all as provided by Act 188 of 1955 as amended.
