REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
October 14, 2009
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Bradford Jacobsen at 6:15 p.m. in the
Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Capello, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin,
Jacobsen, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub. (13)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0)
Quorum present.
The following people addressed the Caucus during public comment: Bob Fetter, Robert Donald, Jimmy A.
Hearns, Richard Skarrit, Eric Wilson and Jim Thienel.
Moved by Middleton supported by Taub the minutes of the September 24, 2009 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Judy Cunningham, Corporation Counsel, addressed the Caucus regarding the Women’s Commission and
the terms of office.
Commissioner Robert Gosselin introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners –
Oppose Passage of U.S. Congress Comprehensive Federal Health Reform Legislation HB 3200 and
stated he would like to suspend the rules and vote on the resolution at the board meeting.
Caucus Chairperson Bradford Jacobsen stated that Democratic Commissioner David Woodward will
introduce a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for Enactment of Michigan
Legislation to Clearly Authorize Counties to Own and Operate Farmer’s and Flea Markets and stated that
he would like to suspend the rules and vote on the resolution at the board meeting.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 6:52 p.m. until October 28, 2009, at 5:30 p.m.
